If you live here in the Puget Sound region you might be interested in attending a.NET Developers Association (NetDA) meeting or two.  Tonight - December 13th we have Paul Litwin talking about

SQL Server Reporting Services for the Developer
In this session you will explore the capabilities of SQL Server Reporting Services from the perspective of the developer. The session will start with an overview of the Reporting Services architecture. Next Paul will demonstrate how to use Visual Studio .NET to create tabular, matrix, and chart-based reports with ease. Covered topics will include: calculated values, groups, headers and footers, aggregate functions, and parameters. You’ll also learn how to deploy and secure reports using Visual Studio and Report Manager. Next, Paul will demonstrate how to use the Reporting Services Web Service to integrate reports into your .NET applications.

I’m the meeting leader tonight.  Not that that is a very strenuous job.  Show up on time.  Make sure the room is set up correctly and that the mics are working properly.  Help the speaker get set up and ready.  Field some questions during the Q and A session.     But what a great opportunity to meet the best presenters in the country.  Being in Redmond we get a steady stream of experts who either live here in the Pacific Northwest or are traveling here for some event at Microsoft. I been involved with the group for nearly seven years.  For those paying attention that was long before .NET was released.  The group had another name back then and was oriented toward a different language (Visual Basic).

Meetings are held at the Microsoft main campus in Redmond WA.  Added bonus , there is pizza if you get to the meeting soon enough.
